Nationals season is here and we will start it off this weekend at ABKC! We have lots to cover here so please read this information completely.
All teams will be competing at America's Best National Championship on December 6, 7 & 8, 2019. ABKC is being held at Municipal Auditorium located at 301 W 13th St, KCMO. The event is sold out, so plan extra time for traffic and parking! When it is time to meet your coach, they will meet in the main lobby of the arena and take them to the practice area. Athletes should be dressed and ready when they meet their coach.
Admission for spectators is $25 for one day or $40 for both days ($15 and $25 for children). Both cash and cards are accepted. A complete performance order can be found here.
We have split the days to the best of our ability so that no one is there the entire day. The competition is very long both Saturday & Sunday. Since we are splitting up the day, please be sure you are on the floor in the VIP area cheering for the teams you are supposed to be there for! As always, we would love to have everyone there all day for all teams but this is not required this weekend.
MakeUp Update
We have received make up from a new vendor. The original vendor did not supply our makeup and as yet has not issued us a refund. However, we went ahead and ordered make up from Rebel. The kit includes: 1 make up pallet with eyeshadows, blush and highlighter, and 1 lipstick. Athletes will need to purchase their own eyeliner, mascara and/or lashes and make up bag. The Rebel makeup is a bit more expensive, even with less product than our original vendor, but you will not be charged the difference in price.
We will have a makeup demos at the Arena on Thursday and Friday so that everyone can see how to apply the makeup correctly. Demos will be held on Thursday at 5:30 & 7:45 and on Friday at 5:30 and 7:00.

Warm Ups
Warm ups have arrived and will be handed out to all athletes at their practice. Please be sure to put your name in your jacket and pants so, if lost, they can be returned to you. ALL ATHLETES will be required to be in warm ups when not in uniform at the competition. Athletes will be asked to be in their warm ups at their awards ceremony, as well. (Exception to the warm up rule: Worlds teams will be asked to be in full uniform to the Worlds Bid Award Ceremony). So once you’ve competed, please change into your warm up. Athletes should have their KC Cheer Team tank top under their jacket on Saturday, and the White Sparkle tank on Sunday.
Bows
We have not received the remake of the Red Tailless bow yet. All Youth, Junior and Senior teams will wear the White Bow both days. Flippers and Fiercelings will be in the Red Tailless bow; Fearless the pink bow and Fierce 5 the Fierce 5 Bow.
Show your Spirit and Sportsmanship!
KC Cheer is so excited to have a quality competition in our hometown! We hope that all of our Athletes, Parents and fans will rally together and show everyone what a HOMETOWN CROWD looks like!
KC Cheer Coaches will be appointing a few athletes from each team to be our CROWD LEADERS. Here are a few tips for all our fans and athletes:
Please join in our chant before each team performs:
Who are WE? KC
Who are WE? KC
Who are WE? KC
LETS GO (Team Name)…..and repeat!
Dress in KC Cheer Gear - Saturday (whiteout) and Sunday (blackout)
Sit in a group of KC Cheer Fans
Go down to the Floor and BE LOUD! Put the phone down and use your voice, your THUNDERSTICKS and your hands to light up the arena! We will have a designated videographer so you will get your team video shortly after their performance in your BAND app. Watch the performance LIVE and enjoy the moment!
The Spirit Stick and a FUN GIFT will be awarded to 1 KC Cheer Fan who is recognized by staff and athletes as an OUTSTANDING FAN with undeniable KC CHEER SPIRIT!
Everyone please remember that your are representing KC Cheer at every event this season. Win or lose, good performance or not so great, we are ONE Team and ONE Family. Be kind to other teams, wish them luck and always be respectful of the judges decisions.
Lastly, parents, your biggest job is to support your athlete! Be excited when they are excited, wipe their tears if they are sad and above all remember this is a TEAM. We do not point fingers or place blame, we look for the positive in each and every performance, whether it’s a lesson learned or a magical moment. Remember what you say and do has a lot to do with how your athlete reacts. Let the coaches do the coaching!
