Tryout Information for 2025 - 2026
KC Cheer will hold tryouts for all Program teams during the month of May, but we accept new athletes year round. Mark your calendars with the dates below for the 2025-2026 competition season.
all athletes - elite, PREP and half season will attend tryouts in may. Information on all programs will be explained in detail in our parent information meetings.
Parent Informational Meetings
Parents are required to attend a parent informational meeting to learn about the basics of our program, and ask questions of our owners and office management prior to tryouts. It is required that parents attend at least one meeting.
Sign ups for the Parent Meeting are posted below. You only need to attend one meeting and we would appreciate your registration so we know how many to plan for at each meeting.
2025-2026 parent meeting dates
Sunday, April 13th - 6:30 p.m.
Monday, April 14th - 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday, May 7th - 6:00 p.m.

All athlete tryout clinics will begin the week of may 19, 2025
The team placement process is divided into two sections:
Tryout Clinics where athletes are evaluated on their current skill set
Practice Groups where athletes are divided into groups based on age and skill level.
Tryout Clinics will be held Monday, May 19th through Friday, May 30th. Athletes should attend either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. Registration is linked below! (ATTN: The Monday/Wednesday clinics will be held on Wednesday and Friday, May 30th because we are closed for Memorial Day on Monday, May 26th.)
Cost of Clinics and Group Practices:
4-7 year olds (Birth year 2018-2021) - $65
8-18 year olds (Birth year 2017- May 31, 2006) - $130
Group practices will begin the week of June 2, 2025!
Athletes are selected for a practice group based on skills exhibited in the clinic tryout. Athletes attend all practice group sessions for their level. Athletes will attend Skills Camp June 23-26 by selected level.
Practice Group Times are Below:
Monday
Level 2 4:45 - 6:45 p.m.
Level 5 and 6 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Tuesday
Level 1 (age 7 and under) 4:45 - 6:15 p.m.
Level 1 (age 8 and up) 4:45 - 6:45
Level 3 and 4 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Wednesday
Level 2 4:45 - 6:45 p.m.
Level 5 and 6 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Thursday
Level 1 (age 8 and up) 4:45 - 6:45 p.m.
Level 3 and 4 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Practice Groups end on Wednesday, June 18th. Team placements will be announced between June 16th and June 19th and team practices will begin following Skills Camp. Athletes will attend skills camp by level placement June 23rd through 26th. Team practices will begin on July 7th.
New athletes and returning KC Cheer athletes must attend a tryout evaluation. Athletes must be registered online in order to participate in tryout evaluations and a registration fee will be applied to your online account. The tryout fee is non-refundable.

Private Tryouts
Private tryouts will be offered on a limited basis on May 7th, May 18th, 19th and 20th. Times are posted on the Private Lessons Calendar. Athletes are encouraged to participate in the clinic tryout unless they are coming from out of the area or are otherwise NOT able to attend a tryout clinic. Athletes choosing a private tryout should plan to attend group practices, as described above. Cost of the private tryout is $130. Did you miss the start of our tryouts? Video Tryouts
Video tryouts will be accepted beginning May 12th. All video tryout applicants will complete a Google Form with details about their current skill set in tumbling and stunting, previous cheer experience, if any and overall role on their current team, iff applicable. Videos should include standing and running tumbling, 3 consecutive jumps, athlete demonstrating current stunting ability. Video trout evaluation fee is $30. Google Form will be posted here soon.
pre tryout evaluation
Interested in a PRE TRYOUT EVALUATION? You can sign up for a private pre-tryout evaluation online. This includes a 15 minute athlete skill evaluation, information about KC Cheer and potential team placement based on current skill set. Coaches will be able to provide you with suggestions on skills to master prior to the tryout clinics. Cost is $25. Registration Coming Soon!
Contract signing
For the 2025-2026 season we will again be using an electronic contract signed through your Jackrabbit Parent Portal. More information will be discussed at our Parent Meetings - don’t miss them!
Contract signing for all 2025-2026 athletes will be required before your athlete can attend their team practice.
